Relaxing Country Walled Garden

The Brief

To create a relaxing low maintenance rustic country garden with multiple areas to enjoy being out in the garden over different times of the day.

The Concept

Before creating the garden a new fence was installed to give a clean strong backdrop to the new design. In front of this new fence is the main feature of the new design, a sweeping natural stone wall with hand dressed coping stones. This raised wall creates the cavity for the new planting scheme where we have re-planted as many existing mature plants found in the garden and also brought in our own to create a year-round seasonal planting scheme.

Running alongside the back of the house is the larger Indian sandstone patio which is the access point down into the garden and the bigger space to entertain more people and enjoy the later sun.

At the end of the garden is the new smaller patio and pergola which has been placed to catch the morning sun. The bespoke hand dressed mosaic patio is closely integrated with the wooden pergola and the end of the sweeping wall to create this lovely outdoor room feel which feels private and close to the plants. A great spot to enjoy the new surroundings!
